Resources

Here are some links to sites that I have find to be useful in my Schooling:

Math:

Purple Math

This site tremendously helped me when I was studying Algebra 1. Prior to finding the site, I mightily struggled with Algebra. But after I found it, everything was clearer for me. Highly recommended.

Math.com

This was another site that, like Purple Math, helped me a lot when I had problems with Algebra. It is full of helpful information, not just for Algebra, but also for Geometry and even Pre-Calculus/Trigonometry. Highly recommended.

Scientific Calculator

I remember the sheer horror I felt when I could not find my TI-82 calculator, nor my cheap extra scientific calculator. I had a math lesson to do, and if I did not do it, I'd be in big trouble. :D The worst part was, it involved a lot of dreaded logarithms that I could not solve using the calculator that comes with Windows operating system. So I spent 10 minutes scrambling to find a good, free, online calculator to use for the day. Success! I found this one and used it for my math lesson that day. The result? An A on my lesson. I eventually found my calculators, but it is nice to know that if I lose'em again(and knowing me, I will) I have a back-up plan. Highly recommended.

English:

Teen Writing

A neat site that features articles on writing reports and essays. It was helpful to me when I first started to write these for High School assignments.

Online Literature

An extremely cool site that has a bunch of poems and stories on it from famous writers. I know, poetry and stories are very boring for most, but this site was helpful for me because it featured summaries for poems that I read in World Literature. Anytime I did not fully understand what I was reading, I read a summary on this site and it all made sense. It was especially helpful when I had to type a paper about the Samuel Coleridge poem "The Rime Of The Ancient Mariner". Recommended.

More links/resources to be added soon. If you have any useful links, please email me at info@homeschoolinghighschoolers.com and I'll be sure to put them on this site.
